Blinkers for 2K1 SE

I need to replace my left rear blinker. Oddly enough, I can't find one to fit my car. I've gone to Pepboys, Autozone, Advance Auto, and few auto stores and picked up the ones that's supposed to fit my car but they don't fit.

Has anyone else experienced this?

@silversurfersg, 1156A... yeah that's what I got and it didn't work either time.

@chopstix2nrz, did you really think I would fall for that?

I ran into the same thing with the 1156A's - the little metal pins on the sides of the bulbs are not right to get it to lock into the socket. They need to be offset, so use 7507's. I used the silver/chrome covered bulbs that light up amber listed under "European Bulbs" toward the bottom of this Page:

http://autolumination.com/1156_1157.htm

I believe others have gotten the 1156A's to work by filing down one of the pins...and doing a blinker fluid flush/refill

Yeah, for the 2k-2k1 rear tail lights, the turn signal bulb number is a rare part to find. Actually, the correct bulb to fit inside the socket is bulb number PY21W. Philips brand make these and there's a place on the internet that carries them (not sure, off hand because it's been about three years since I had bought a set.) Google it, and I'm sure it will pop up.

Good info MIXXMAX. I googled and it looks like the PY21W and the 7507 are the same - a site lists the "reference number" as 7507 and the "International category code" as PY21W.

Interestingly, the Sylvania application chart for the 2K Maxima lists BOTH the 1156 and 7507, which are different bulbs as we know:

Rear turn signal
1156A
1156AST Silverstar Signal Lighting
7507A
7507AST Silverstar Signal Lighting
