I'm gonna be putting my 01 AE headlights up for sale this weekend after I do my 5.5 upgrade. They are not OEM, they are aftermarket name brand DEPO.

Here are two PICS...

I did the mod on my stock lights. I'd rather do it on the stock lights due to OEM quality. I don't trust ebay knockoff's. Look the same as the one posted. in the replies.

ae's and the mod posted above are still different than the headlights aja656 and myself are curious about. just look at the blinker section and you can see its all blacked out inside not just partially.

I'm thinking 130 without the bulbs., 150 with. It has the Sylvania Silverstars, the set goes for like $50.

But PM me an offer and we'll talk. I will surely put them on the For Sale forum on Sunday or Monday.

I did this step by step write-up a while ago. If you want, you could make your OEM just like the ones on ebay. People have either sprayed the inside with a coat of flat black or did what I did and just rub off the chrome.

Hope this helps:

Just the one on my sig (hopefully shows up). All I did was heat them up using a heating gone. Pry open bit by bit, first strating around the clips. Once they are apart you remove the chrome trim from the lense (3 screws). Drop the chrime trim in hot water and soap for awhile, then scrub and the chrome will come off to reveal a nice gloss black finish underneath. Screw back on, re heat and stick it back together. Patience is key.

nice mod right up maximized i might try it out, its similar to the one i posted just a little more detailed, the other write up recommends to paint it black your it seems you just rub off and you get a black plastic, it looks pretty shiny underneath the chrome....gaby you might be able to take all the chrome off inside the blinker section in maximized write up and get the same look

Yup..the chrome just rubs off and it has a glossy black look underneath. Some paint it because they want a flat black look. You could definitely rub the chrome off the inside of the blinker.

Yep thats what I did. I might be retrofitting in a new set and will be removing the chrome on the inner housing as well. Hopefully my up coming mod stays within budget.

yah i got the same question, also do you all think it is it legal to take the chrome out of the blinker and use a white bulb? or does the bulb just have to be amber to be safe? im thinking the blinker wouldnt be very noticeable if it doesnt have any chrome around it???

the diys is very simple, however, the glue is a PITA. don't buy that ebay crap. do it yourself. it took me, an hour and a half to bake and rub of the chrome. it looks very nice

The self-made AE's in my sig are available for anyone that's interested. No use for them now that I have the HID's in.

LOL I was wondering why I'am getting all these pm about headlights....LOL I had these since Dec. 05' when they first came out (got hit by a drunk driver, so I needed them anywayz). They have a very aggressive look compared to oem, and light output is excellent, but the only problem I had with them is that the light beam itself is higher than the oems. It's no biggie because it can be adjusted.

Other than that, there cool!!!!! The Maxima G0D has spoken

That's a zero in god..LOL
