AutoWeek article on new 2002 Maxima
Just got the latest issue. Good article and they liked the new car but thought the 6 speed was overkill as the engine is so strong and flexible.
They were also very diplomatic when describing the rear suspension and its' drawbacks. It is still cheap to make and saves weight.
Also, Nissan plans on selling 2-3 times as many Altimas as Maximas and reducing production accordingly. The Altima will be the main complition for the Camery and Accords.
I think they should merge the Infinity I30 and Maxima into one model, they are too close now and only 2% of Maxima owners ever consider the Infinity even though they are the same car.
