K&N drop in or Intake

Have a 2000 I30t. Put in about 100lbs of stereo equipment, so I'd like to try to get a little more power to offset the weight a little. I love the ramair thing in the car, so I was thinking a $50 K&N drop-in would do well.
So my question is, K&N drop-in or an intake?
People that have intakes, what kind, how much, where to buy, and what kinda performance?
Thanks

the popcharger is just a cone filter and adapter that replaces your stock airbox while using the stock intake tubing...they'll probably have it for $100 or so...
I assume you mean the FSTB in your second question..that'll run around $80...

Only thing is a cone intake will make your car ALOT louder! I assume you got an I30 for a higer class ride and I've got to say that while I love the sound of the cone intake you may not.
Here's what my car sounds like on: http://members.nbci.com/sprunglove/Dyno/myrun.mpg
keep in mind that this was in a garage with the hood open so it sounds even louder but you get the idea. If you like it then by all means get one, I love it!

I've got a drop-in K&N . . .
and I can definitely feel a difference in throttle response over the paper filter. I decided against a cone filter because I didn't want to increase the sound of the intake.
Having said that, I've read a great deal of negative press recently on K&N drop-in air filters. They appear to allow a lot of small particulate matter to get through. For a further discussion, see:

I've decided to replace the K&N with an Amsoil drop-in air filter. The filter utilizes an oil-impregnated foam element rather than cotton. Amsoil has an excellent reputation across their entire product spectrum. I'll let you know if I detect any seat-of-the-pants difference in performance between the Amsoil and the K&N.

Re: I've got a drop-in K&N . . .
very true, i dont like noise, if anything i would like to make the my maxima quieter than it already is, the whole popcharger or stillen intake aint for me. well hopefully i will have some money and will be able to afford a K&N or AMSOIL one you are talking about. How much would the AMSOIL go for?

So now it's, K&N vs. Amsoil
Ok, say I don't care about how efficient the filter is (leased car, don't care if the engine gets dirty and doesn't last more than 3 yrs, not my problem), tell me which filter is better and why, which gives better performance?
