350z/ 6spd starter compatability

i have a 350z flywheel and a 6spd starter and i already broke at least 1 tooth off on the starter ring.. i had the thought, would a 350z starter bolt up to a 6spd trans? this is probably a stupid question, but i thought id ask, because if it would, then i would hopefully prevent me from having to change flywheels once a month.
