Interesting...So I'm still working on my B14 VQ35 project (VQ35DE from 2002 Maxima SE 6-speed). Reference here: http://www.sr20forum.com/showthread.php?t=189711
I decided today would be a good day to wire up my speedometer to the transmission, and as luck would have it, there's a reverse sensor (which I already wired up), there's a neutral position sensor (which I prolly won't need), and there's no speed sensor.....I'm mystified.
I look at the differential area, there's a plate up top where I would expect the speed sensor to be, I opened up the plate and what do you know, there seems to be a little plastic gear which I know is used for the speed sensor, but it's not being used.
So 3 Questions on my mind:
1) where can I get a speed sensor that fits in that hole?
2) where is the vehicle speed measured in the 02 max? The hub?
3) What models utilize a 'normal' speed sensor for them to need that plate block-off?
