Quote: The 3.5 is a good motor, but does not seem to like abuse. I too was loosing a little oil between changes (a little over a qt). I do not beat on the car very much (ever since I picked up a sport bike). I really only occasionally put my foot in it getting on the highway etc.
Oil burning has nothing to do with whether a motor can handle abuse or not. I mean, seriously guys......

I wasn't bashing the VQ35, I didn't start a thread about the problems with it either. I just happen to like the engine I have. I like the fact that I don't have to make any changes to it, it's great the way it is. You guys sound like your pretty happy with what you have so enjoy it. If I had money to throw away right now I probably would do a VQ35 swap with an AEBS stroker kit, but my Max is my daily driver and suits my needs as it is. Eventually, I'll be dumping some cash into my 70 Chevelle anyway so my Max will remain the same.

Didn't say the DBW was "bad" per se. Simply stated my opinion of preference, that's all. Certain 3.5 drivers in this thread who previously have had 3.0's have voiced similar opinions. And you act like I haven't driven quite a few VQ35-powered Nissans....

damnit, I'm late as hell. But I HAVE to comment on this.

Not sure how the VQ30 reacts to this mod, but Cripes, it's a vast improvement over stock for the VQ35, and I still own a 95 VQ30 so I can compare.
