How long did(have) your Illuminas last(ed)?

I have the Eibach/Illumina set up with 2f/3r. I put them on about 20k and my car is bottoming out and floating like a buick. I live in the NYC area so roads aren't great. I was just curious if mine are abnormally low, or if that is what other people are finding with the lowered setup.

I bought mine used with about 40k mile on the and I haven't had any problems. Something may be wrong with yours, but I'm not sure.

The roads around here (raleigh) are probably a little better than around New York, but I've put 80+K on mine with no problems. Have you tried cranking the settings up to see if that helps?

I put about 4k mi on my set and I suspect that my front passenger is blown. I'm on progress which could be the reason (1.7fr and Illumina's say good for 1.5in drops). I've also hit a plethora of enormous pot holes...

That probably why. You are on progress springs which sit the car really low and you also have bad road which doesn't help. If I were you I would look into Eibachs or another type of spring that still gives you a good drop, but not too low to the point where you are hitting potholes everywhere you drive.

Had mine for over 40K and no issues. A little rust on them but no squeaks or bouncing.

how could you test to see if they are blown? mine seems to slip a little when i go over bumps on a turn (slight one or full on 180 degree turn) esp on the freeway it seems like the car likes to follow bumps. but i've had mine for about 35K on h-tehcs.

Check to see if there is hydraulic oil leaking out.

I blew both rear illuminas within a month of installing them.

I was using them with stock GLE springs.

I would not blame the illuminas though. I found out my GLE had the softer springs that were prone to bottom out causing the shocks to blow.

Since switching over to H&R and illumina's about 10K miles ago all is well.
