New LED tailight project....maybee

I haven't tackled a project in a while and I am thinking about making up a new set of LED tails, something really different. these two designs are pretty identical, not sure what one i like better top or bottom. I was also considering just one circle.....but still just tossing ideas around.
I figure the two circles would work as taillights, the bigger circle + its inside would light up for brake and the inside of the smaller circle would be signals. the bottom pic is to get an idea what they would look like w/o the LEDS on, (they would look better, i used MS paint for these photos, )
any thoughts, comments concerns? feel free to photshop or MS paint somthing up if you think you got a realy great design. i am looking for some feedback.

NEXT TIME I WILL ASK PERMISSION BEFORE I USE PICTURES OF ANOTHER MEMBERS CAR

I prefer the bigger circles on the inner part of the tails.

What about one big circle for the brake light with the turn signal led's surrounding the brake light? Like the new GLI.

Keep it simple. Small circle within a large circle.

Definitely agree with Irish, circle within the circle.

Dr. Roy, having opened a five taillights I'm sure you'll agree any circular design will definitely require some hacking of the taillight. I have a few tails open right now shoot me any questions.

Small circle in a big circle would be nice.

Did you ever get around to replacing your headlights?

ChromeSE5,
yea, i thew back in the MDX headlights, (RX330's got stolen), i have a set of TSX' projectors waiting to go in those housings, along w/ some insanely bright LEDs for the halos(the THC3 leds for LSdiodes.com), I am going to do those at the end of june when i get my front bumper painted.
In the winter, on a day when it was like 2 degrees, I hit a cat doing about 40mph, the son of a ***** jetted in front of my car, bounced off and kept running. the passenger side of my bumper shattered, destroying my bumper, It also ****ed up my wheel well liner, one of my foglights, and I lost my ambient temp sensor. that cat cost me about $500....stupid cat.
Anyway back to the tails, somthing, like this...

I like the design, however, there's so much "dead space" all around. Possible to modify the current LED-type tails to be more Cadillac-esque in design (tighter spaced LEDs?)?

Don't listen to this guy. He might be a bit unstable cause he thinks eating chicken feet is like eating thin asian chick's fingers

Perfect! I think the question now is functionallity. I would assume while driving at night, the larger circle stays illuminated (top pic) and when you step on the brake the inner circle goes on (bottom pic). So the question is, during the day, does both circles or just the inner one goes on when you step on the brake?

I like 808's idea. That would be nice to have both of the second set if pictures. Outer circle for lights on and inner comes on when you brake.

Set the outer ring as a running light. Set both rings with the brake lamp circuit. That way, the outer burns all the time when lights are on, and even when they are off, both light up with pressure to the brakes.

still the same idea but a little bit different how about something like this??

have the outer ring be the brakes.... the bigger red dots would be lit up at night meaning when the headlights are one they would be on and then the big and small red dots would turn on when brakes are hit while the smaller ring in the middle would be the signals

Dude, didn't you just fix your car not too long ago? Dumb cat.

Anyways, will the THC3 leds also be used in the tail lights? Exactly how much brighter will they be compared to regular ones? Is wiring them the same as other LEDs? Can't wait to see the finished product. Also, will these be going into the black tails or 02/03 tails?

I personally do not like any of them. I like the ones you made before which mimic the pattern we have now. We need a fire extinguisher smiley cause I can feel the flames coming.

If you plan to use a picture of MY CAR for your photoshop, please get my permission first.
I do not want my car associated with tails that I feel are ugly.
Please delete the pictures and use your own car for the photoshop.
Thank You

I didn’t realize I had done something wrong, and no one had posted in the thread or PMed that they didn’t want that pic used. If that was the case I would have quickly removed it w/ an apology..

But your right, it’s a good thing you went running straight to a mod to tell on me, I had offended your delicate sensibility and that was obviously only thing you could do….
