From what i have heard, the 01's had the strongest mass' out there. 2002 and beyond, yes they tend to go bad, but they are usually replaced by a stock replacement or a 01 mass. Dont quote me, but i believe its not a direct replacement either. But since you have an 01 you shouldnt have to worry.

as extensively discussed on here...no it won't.
If you have an oiled filter (K&N, etc), over oiling COULD cause a problem. But the problem is the oil...not the intake itself.
I had a K&N for 3 years with no problems.

Dude, $650 for an 01 MAF? even if it does break, it's like $100 anyway, dont let them rip you off.

I got my 01 MAF from my local dealer for $100 .

Transfering the little temp resistor or what that is was kind of a pain , but the cars runs mint.

piel98 is in Canada I believe, parts can be a lot more expensive up there, but probably not 650 expensive.

I have an 03 and I am running on an 01 MAF with the IAT swap. No problems. I paid $104 from the stealer for the 01 MAF part number 22680 2Y001.

What part was wrong? The whole thread seems to have 2001 maf (i know i used the wrong word first time) And its not a direct replacement, you have to switch over some sensor.
