Can you tell us why you did not search for the answer first? There are only about a thousand threads saying the same thing.

I think the maf problems are in the Stickies, so always look there for problems first.

Important...Do NOT buy a new 2002-2003 MAF.

Read this first and read it entirely...youll save 3-400$

question about using the a 2k1 maf on a 2k2, i know you have to transfer over the thermister but how does that work exactly? i was looking at the pictures in the maf thread in the how-to section but it kinda of makes sense to me. I want to make sure i know this well so i can fix my car quickly if im stuck.

is the thermister the silver wire that is attached to the two metal points?

You transfer the thermistor from your busted 2k2, into your NEW 2k1 MAF.

Because 2k1 MAF's do not have it, but thay DO have the 2 clips that will allow the new thermistor to be attached to.

I had the same problem about 10 months ago and before I had any codes pulled most people on the org told me it was possibly the MAF. I replaced my MAF with an 01 MAF and I did the IAT swap and I still had the same problem. So I went to the dealer had the codes pulled. A P0650 came up. This was definitely not the MAF, but the ECU. My car was doing the same thing you described and if I am correct then your car in "fail-safe mode" and your engine won't rev past 2500 rpms. Bottom line is that I had to replace the ECU. Before you go and buy a MAF check the codes first to see what the problem is. That's my best advise.

If it turns out that your problem is the MAF then follow the advise some of the org members posted above and buy the cheaper 01 MAF swap the IAT and save some $$. Good luck.
