Installing heated sideviews on GXE (non-heated)?

Has anyone ever installed heated mirrors in replacement of non-heated ones. I am replacing both mirrors and for $5 more I couldn't pass up the heated ones. Is there a difference in the harness or will I just have an extra wire in the heated ones? Any help would be appreciated. I haven't received the mirrors yet so I'm just looking for some help beforehand.

Use the search. Somebody has a write-up on how to do this in an old post.

I did search. I always search first. But for some reason I must not be using the right keywords. If someone knows it and will link it that would be great. Otherwise, I will search again later.

Okay, so I found the link to the write-up and I will link it here again incase someone needs it...

http://home.insightbb.com/~dwh/mirror.htm

It seems that the car is pre-wired for heated mirrors. The only thing to make sure is that the relay is there and sometimes it seems it is there. The write-up involves more work but if you're like me, just purchase the mirrors heated from ebay for $50 shipped each. This way its all plug and play.

Its good to see the old write up again. You need to make sure you car is wired for the heated mirrors. To make absolute sure of this take the door panel off and check the connector as seen in the 2nd pic down on the write up. There should be 2 extra wires going into the lower connector that have no wires coming out the upper connector. If u have this then u are set. If not then you may not have the cold weather package installed. I know most all GLE and SE have it. I dont know about GXE's for sure.

Hi All,

I'm looking to install heated mirrors on my car. I don't have the relay under the hood, and called DaveB to get one. He said there are 3 different relays listed under Heated Mirror for our 5th Gens.

Anyone know which relay I should get?

A look at Courtesy shows the following options.
25230-A33B045 - $23.77
25230-A33B046 - $23.77
25230-A33B082 - $30.61

If others with an SE Model have heated mirrors, would you mind looking at the relay under your hood, and reporting back the part number?

Thanks in Advance,
- Zack
