As far power from the exhaust, I am assuming you mean catback, you wont get any real noticable power gains from it. Possibly if you combine it with a high flow cat or test pipe then you be getting somewhere. If you want quiet you may want to look into just upgrading the cat and b pipe and keeping the factory muffler. But if you want to replace the whole system, then opt for cattman or listen to the clips of the new megan kit that just came out though it may be a little excessive when combined with the y pipe.

No not really. I would tune w/ a piggyback. You'll feel results from that.

May I ask how you acquired the topspeed y-pipe? I know I was about the last person to get it from Topspeed about a year or so ago before they quit making them.... Unless they are again.

stop wasting time on "power" mods and do some suspension work to that 4x4.

springs, struts, LTB, RSB, SFCs, etc.....

a good-handling/riding Maxima is so much more fun than a maxima with an extra 20hp...

It will never be a drag monster unless you dump $6K into it, but has good power stock and can be made to handle pretty amazingly with some suspension mods. The stock suspension on these is pitiful.

AGREED.....THE ONLY attempt i did at "power" NOISE MOD, was put a berk intake on. what im concentrating on now is Suspension....Front strut bar, suspension, and rear sway bar

i just put a cattman y on mine and a rear section and didnt really notice anything at all. except noise. if you want a good sounding exhaust ive had greddy, cattman, and magnaflow. the greddy by far sounds the best. the only thing ive noticed is everybady that does an exhaust removes the cat its been proven that as long as your cat is functioning right a high flow or cat delete is not gonna make any difference. the only thing it affects is the sound of the exhaust. i loved the way my greddy sounded the only thing you gotta get past is the ricer looks of the muffler.

I don't know about the whole power thing. I mean it is nice to have that extra power there and I am always asking for more. But in reality it isn't going to be a "drag monster." Investing in suspension is definately a good choice, especially to get rid of wheel gap and improve performance.

I say springs and struts should be next.... those make a world of difference.

If you're looking for a good local deal, I'll have H-tech springs for sale soon hopefully.

What are you getting next? Still staying with springs and struts or are you going coilovers?

Going back to my old Progress springs because the H-techs are too soft for my liking, from a handling standpoint, but they ride and look awesome. But let's keep this thread on topic.

A y-pipe is really only going to boost your top end and contribute to noise. I'd get some Nissanworks Phenolic Intake Spacers

they reduce the amount of heat your Intake Manifold absorbs, and I just noticed that you have an 01. I don't think this mod is available for the VQ30. . .err. . .go for suspension mods. SFCs or the Progress/Cattman RSB works awesome!
