01 SE Compressor
You can replace the clutch. I would get a new stator, pulley and clutch set. You will need some snap ring pliers to replace it. There should be enough room for you to do this on the car (won't have to discharge the AC ) if you get some angled snap rings. There is a 10mm bolt in the center you need to remove, this will allow you to remove the clutch. Once you have that off there will be a snap ring that holds the pulley in place. Once the pulley snap ring is off the pulley will come out and you will see the stator- this engages (pulls on the clutch, its an elector magnet )... there is another snap ring inside there that holds the stator to the compressor. Reassembly is reverse way of disassembly.
New clutch should come with selective washers to set the right gap between the clutch and the pulley. I rebuild Honda A/C compressors all the time, big problem on the 05+ RLs. I am not sure if Nissan sells it separate, but the compressors are all very similar. Denso vs Calsonic- very similar in design. Nissan should offer the parts for replacement, especially since the bearing making noise/going bad is very common on the Calsonic variable displacement compressor they use on the 5th gens.

woooooow, damn if this works i owe you big. so anywhere i can find the parts u can think of. i would pay you to get me the correct parts. they quoted me $1000 for the job....
I don't know.... I used to work for Nissan light years ago, and I go to the dealer I worked at for parts. I still get crazy discounts on all the parts, so I don't shop with anyone else.
On your own pal.

I'm not telling you to pay the 1000 bux they want.... I am telling you to find an online Nissan dealership who will sell you the parts.
I think South Point Nissan in TX is where Dave Burnette works at.

Ask Dave B on this forum if he can get you the stuff you need. My days with Nissan ended when the 5th gen came out and I got last of the good ones
