View Poll Results: if you have a sunroof and you tinted your windows, did you tint your sunroof also?
Yes. I want to remain private while being able to use the sunroof at the same time.

No. Though I tinted my windows, I wanted the sunroof to be a sunroof. I just close the cover.

and it can't be called a SUNroof unless it blocks sun.
proper terminology:

moonroof : not tinted, what out maximas are equipped w/.

sunroof: no slider, just body metal and ceiling cloth aka sunroof. all sun or none. most commonly found in the older early 90's late 80's bmws
moonroof: glass, with cloth slider, still able to slide glass back to expose the open air. more common in alot of cars now days.

I tinted my first car and didnt know I could tint my sunroof. On my second car, I already had tint. If I were to tint my current car, I would tint the sunroof, If I didnt, the only thing stopping me is pricing.

I tinted the sunroof on the max, but not for privacy (what are you worried about, helicopters?? ). It's so I can leave the cover open and not bake in Houston sun.
It works really well, cuts out most of the heat while still letting a lot of light through. Think I used 18% SolarGard metallic.

i tinted my sunroof with 1 layer of 20% and another layer of 40% vkool tint...it blocks out a lot of heat when i have the cover open but still puts in a good amount of light compared to some stock tinted sunroofs. i have 20% tint all around with frost interior so with sunroof cover open it'll still look slightly brighter inside haha

Like somone else posted, a tint guy told me that no manufacturer recommends tinting the sunroof. It has something to do with the glass cracking. He also said that he's done many without anyone coming back to complain.

^ Depends on the cops in your area. In TN, I haven't met one that's really cared, knock on wood... I've got 17% and would've easily gotten 15% in charcoal if I had really wanted charcoal. Platinum Plus semi-metallic > charcoal.

IM not sure, considering that my car with an rearwindshield antenna cannot get reg tint (im guessing with metal) has to get a non-metallic tint.
Its quite a contradiction. They quoted that my non-metalic is better quality(more $$)
