Wheelskins Steering wheel cover
Wheelskins Steering wheel cover
I just bought this for my 01 gle where my steering wheel leather was so messed up it was embarrassing.
I was able to get the Oak color leather cover and stiched it over my existing messed up cover last night.
I have to say I was pleased with the result. The steering wheel now feels nice and thick and the quality of leather is excellent.
I know I know.. will be posting pics later today

Also, try the "Baseball" stitch for a really great look:

And here is the "cross stitch" with red thread:

Custom Wheel Cover that rivaled OEM
Nice work on the Wheelskins installation Kukx30de. In 2003 I replaced the tattered OEM steering wheel cover on my 1996 Maxima SE. I was determined to have an exact replacement that extended into the 4 spoke areas as the original did. I contacted Alan Gun (http://www.aglausa.com) and his leather shop in South Florida agreed to use my gently-removed (although tattered) steering wheel cover as a pattern for making a new leather one for me, all punched and ready to go. I believe the price was under $75, and I assume he would still do it today. Maybe I can dig up some installation pics from that 2003 project, but doubtful.
