rear view mirror
so i was adjust the rear view mirror inside. it felt really loose to me. its the one that is inside of the car. i mean it jiggles a little and it feels like its gonna break off the the stem that is mounted to the windshield. i was wondering if there is a way to tighten it so it doesnt fall. i looked around but i didnt see any screws that might be loose or anything. i dont want dismantle the mirror assembly. i almost feels like the ball that it pivots is loose or broken.

Check the mount on the windshield. The mirror may be working its way off the mount, or the mount itself may be loose or about to break away from the windshield. The mirror should be slide down and be flush seated onto this mount. I would start from here, and if the mount is loose from the windshield, you can buy the glue adheshive at any local auto parts store. Good luck.

Does the mirror move when you drive? Are you sure it's not were the mirror is connected to the stem. I think the mirrors weren't meant to be adjusted to much on these cars. Mine moves easily when I adjust mine and has a lose feel.

the mirror doesnt move at all when i drive. its really stiff if i want to adjust it. as far as it being tight against the windshield mount, it is as far as i can see. i think its were the actually stem and mirror meet is were the issue is. i mean i dont want to adjust it then have it break off in my hands. any other suggestions guys.

i say just check the torx screw that holding it up, but it you do tighten, PLEASE BE SURE NOT TO OVERTIGHTEN, my windshield cracked in that same spot 2 weeks later, after tighting it pretty tight, and then to top it off....a chunk of my windshield came with it when the mirror dropped......Im pretty sure it came from the bone rattling base
