i just found out my car isnt starting because of a crankshaft position sensor code . Much cheaper than everything else I was planning to buy. But i'm getting 2 codes for it. P1336 and P0335. After research, this sensor is supposed to be next to the oil pan? But i recall seeing it on the side of the engine where the supercharger bolts up to. Can anyone confirm the difference for me? I'm praying its the same thing.

Hmmm, maybe thats the one I'm thinking about? I just ordered one from autozone for 89 bucks. hopefully it fixes issue. This one seems to be in front of the crank pulley. When in front, i mean its closer to the headlights than the pulley.

...mmm. Get Nissan FAST just to make sure.

...they called me just now and told me the newer 2001 coilpacks don't have gray dots on them. But I made sure that those were the model numbers.

get Nissan FAST? you mean stay away from autozone brand? On such a small sensor with a 1 year warranty, i think it should be fine, no?

WOW!!! You guys wont believe how mad I am. Wasted money, this is how.

I use my lunch break to rush home to pick up this stupid sensor from autozone so I can put it in and finally drive my car after a few days. Freaking FEDEX is super late with delivery. In fact, they never come. Frustrated and worried I may go the weekend without my baby, I rush straight to my nearest nissan to give in and pick up the same sensor. I get great news, the sensor is cheaper from nissan than it is from autozone! How does that happen?! .

so i rush home to install. CAR STILL WONT START. I cleared my codes with OBD II scanner, and i get a code still....P0336 for a crankshaft sensor. I remember this car has 2 of these sensors so out of anger and frustation, i run back to nissan to pick up the other one. 137 freaking dollars and a chance it might not solve the problem but I just go on ahead since anger is kind of thinking for me right now. As I head back home, I look for this sensor and find out.....

THE DAM SENSOR WAS removed from its location. It was just dangling...its supposed to go into the transmission. The screw holding it was removed for some reason. I dont even touch my new sensor, just push this one back in. Start the car up, BACK IN BUSINESS......no more codes, no more issues. AND nissan wont take back the old sensor...I'll try to get credit for it...unless someone on here wants it .

But thats the scoop, took roughly 3 hours but I am back in business and it feels great. No more 4 banger auto camry lol

I am having a starting problem as well.

The car is a 00 GXE auto.

It was working fine until I left it sitting for one week while I was out of town. I get back and crank it and it turns over but nothing happends. I tried jumping it with my other car and no luck. So I swap the battery from my other car and it still does the same thing so it is definately not the battery.

After a few tries it starts up and runs smooth as ever but the service soon light comes on. I kept it running until the engine warmed up. I killed the engine and restarted 2 times perfectly. The 3rd time it does like it was doing when it would just turn over but not start.

It has fuel in it and is parked in my leveled driveway so I doubt it is from all of the gas sitting on one side of the tank.

This is really odd because when it does start it runs perfectly, smooth idle, smooth driving, etc...like it used to. So, I do not think it is a fuel filter that is dirty or a faulty fuel pump or injector or even a bad coil pack.

The air filter is also clean so I am stumped.

If you crank it 25 times it will start maybe once....that is how bad it is.

HELP!

Oh, the service soon light did not come on when I got it started the last 2 times.

Your fuel filter was so clogged that your car wouldn't start.

How many miles do you have on your car?

Do you use premium, regular or diesel?
