Im looking to sell my maxima and was wondering what do you think is a good asking price, Its a 2001 Black Nissan Maxima Gle with 19" black Gianelle Rims, Eibach Pro Kit Lowering springs, kyb gr-2 shocks, 111,000 Miles in great condition debadged and professionally painted factory black by graska's race paint about 2 years ago. Never been in any accidents!

The car is in great condition the biggest flaw is probably the wheels the finish on the lip is starting to come off in some spots and normal wear but could be looking great with some sandpaper and time!

 

 

I did a Kelly blue book check and it came up with any where from $7550 to $8250 depending on what the options are. You know your car better than us I would use that as a base and maybe go with $9k. You might even put the stock wheels back on it if you don't get what you're asking for it.

Whatever someone is willing to pay for it!!!!

Nothing is worth more that what people are willing to pay for it. A 65 S/C cobra is "worth" about 6 grand in scrap metal, electronics (wait, what electronics!! lol) , motor, tires/wheels. But why does it sell for 400k? Because the car has intrinsic value not inherent value.

You sell the car for what you think it's intrinsic value is, and hopefully you will find a fellow max lover who agrees with you!!!

 

Well I don't know what the seats look like, but $9k should be your final sale price imho.

IMO the car as it is right now is only appealing to a small audience, i think that if you went back to stock then you would have a better chance,.. so my advice,.. try selling it like it is for 9 grand,.. and if you cant get that after some time,.. take all ur mods wheels ect off,.. sell all of those on here and sell the car for 8 grand...just my .02

its going to be harder selling your car as is for 9000 unless u find some kid in high school looking for a first car..... going back to stock is ur best bet.... i had tons of ppl look at my car but they always found something they didnt like cuz everyone has thier own taste... i went back to alll stock and sold it right away for my asking price

 

That is true. Sell your car with the stock wheels, etc. and then sell your rims separate. Just a thought...

 

I think this wins the "most vague answer" award. People with half a brain do research before they purchase a car, which always includes checking at least one source for appraised value. That being the case, you should ask about 8900, assuming that is a few hundred over KBB. Realistically, you will probably end up selling for pretty close to the true KBB value.

A 65 cobra has intristic value because its a freakin 65 Cobra. There are 839574348587 01 maxima's out there to choose from, especially automatics. Thus, the intristic value is not a good approach!!

 

well I have it for sale for $8300 its been for sale for for a couple weeks and only 1 call! Hopefully it will sell soon!

 

How many sites are you advertising it on? I would do Ebay, Carmax, the local paper, Cars.com, Auto Trader magazine it should sell easily IMO.

How is that answer vague? He may find a person that'll be willing to pay 11k for the car, you never know. He may also never meet anyone in his life again that'd give him more than 6 grand. Again, I revert back to my previous comparison, if no person in the world would pay over 10k for a 65 Cobra, then by default, the value of a 1965 Cobra S/C would be 10k, do you see now what I'm getting at? The same principle of "worth" applies to the maxima.

Yes you are right, but just asking "hey, how much is this worth" is completly worthless. First, you should already have an idea of how much something is worth. You know what you have done to it, you know how it's been maintained, you know what's wrong with it. Me, and everyone else, just by looking at a couple of pictures of a very nice maxima is not enough for me. Why ballpark a figure, in the end, does that really help anyone? And as much as I appreciate the org, I would not consider this forum to be an "appraisal service", there is a huge difference.

it is a 2001, if you go to Carmax they will give like $6000, so keep it until it dies..... my blue book value was around $5k

 

The miles are going to kill you. Not many people want a car with over 100K.

 

yeah 100k=dramatic price drop

 

id say 9k but with rims 11k
