I've had this problem for a couple days now on my 2K2. I press the accelerator just a little..and at this one point..it clicks. Then when I release it, it clicks again. It's getting to be annoying! What about you 2K2 owners? Is this normal? It never happened before it hit around 1500 miles, now it does it all the time.

I hear a click on the shift lock when I press on the brake (auto).
Could it be the shift lock when pressing on the gas so you wont bump the tranny to a Reverse or different gear by accident?

Ok I had this click to and it annoyed the hell out of me. So I took it to two different dealers and finally the second one diagnosed the problem. He ordered me a part called the "lever com". I'm going to the dealer tommorrow so that he can put it on. I'll let you guys know how it works out. By the way the part number is:
18002-4Y905, just ask for that. It takes about 2 weeks to order. Hope this helps.

Is there any debris...

extra manufacturing material/flash/etc. near one of the pivot points of the pedal?

Perhaps this is what is being felt.

Ok I just had it replaced yesterday and wow does it feel much better. It feels good under your foot and theres no longer any sound. They ended up replacing the whole accelerator assembly. So I guess this problem is not normal

I had the car in for this problem and the transverse link recall yest. Got it back today, and they said the click comes from "normal throttle potentiometer activating switch" "no repairs needed". Is the dealer BSing here? Or is it really normal? Am wondering if I should take it to another place (an hour away)..won't if it's considered normal. Some more opinions from 2k2'ers please?

SHPatel, do you have a 2002?

Yeah I have a 2k2 and no it's not normal. That's what my old dealer told me and I took it to another dealer. I just recently got it repaired and it feels so much better. In an earlier post I listed the part number. Just give them hell and tell them you need to replace the part otherwise you'll be calling Nissan HQ. Hope this helps. By the way I have a 2k2 GLE.
