How many of you get your personal CDs to display on the Bose HU Screen?
If so How? Nothing has been working for me.

TIA

Burn CDs with Neuro or Easy CD Creator. Neuro works best because when you move tracks to the CD to be burned, you can right click on the track and mess with all the track's properties. You can title the song, add fade in/out effects, turn up bass, ect. It's awesome.

Note* Windows Media Player cannot add text to CDs. (Not even in Windows Vista) It also does not have to be an MP3 CD to have text...

to the point.. i have burnt many cds with Easy CD Creator and Sonic and Non of these have Worked.
its easy to post ***** and say burn a cd, but I would like to see real input.
The majority of my CDs have MP3 format? and still do not display info?

it all depends on the way the CD is made and if the info is in the tag data. i have had a few store bought CDs display the info.

By saying a few do you mean you have a few store bought CDs that do NOT display the data.

I have tag data in both versions ID3v1 and ID3v2 on my tested audio cds and still come up with nothing? This isnt a huge deal but would be great to figure out.

I don't have much knowledge of this but I had a Sony headunit in my old car and it'd only display information from cd's produced by Sony...... Obviously Bose doesn't produce cd's.... So i'm not sure. Maybe different companies use different formats for the display data. Or maybe I'm way off track, just a thought.

Im sorry to keep this going
So would you have any ideas on what I should do to be successful in displaying data?
Brand of Cd(shouldnt matter), Type of Burn Software (I have used Sonic, and Roxio Easy CD Creator) Audio Format (IDv2 or IDv3), ?
I have software to edit anything audio, so I believe I have capabilities on making this work, in some way.

Let me note I have seen an aftermarket unit display just the CD title from a personal CD (IE: "Billy's CD 9-5-07" )through limewire as the person unknowingly did it.

I'm pretty sure the thing you're looking for is called CD Text. You probably have to enable it in whatever software you are using. Check the help file. You then have to set the CD Text properties for EVERY song on the disc. Some software might autogenerate the CD Text for each track from the IDv2/v3 tags in the MP3s, but otherwise you'll have to type it in yourself. There are also CD Text properties for the entire disc itself.
I use Nero for burning CDs and it supports CD Text. Some software does not.

Google can be helpful.

So I made a typo. It's called "Nero Burning Rom" or "Nero 7."

The majority of store bought CDs do not have CD Text stored on them because it takes up space and costs more money, however, they usually contain software that (once put in your computer's CD drive) pulls the song data from the internet and stores it in your Windows Media Player (if you use Windows). Car stereos do not have internet access (yet) so there's no way to pull track data unless its put on the CD by you via CD burning software suggested above or elsewhere in this thread.

Also, make sure the CD Text is turned on on your CD player in the car. (2001-2003 has an on/off type function for CD Text)

You need three things for it to work:

1) A CD-Burner new enough to burn CD-Text (google your burner to see if it supports it)

2) A program that can burn CD-Text (In iTunes 7.x, go to Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Burning > Click "Include CD-Text")

3) Once the CD is in the car, hit the "PTY" button and choose either Disc Name or Track Name. Use the "Auto P" button to cycle through the name if it doesn't fit the entire thing on one screen.

And btw, I thought the Bose (Blows) stereo couldn't play an MP3-CD.
