Engine trouble. Whats the culprit?

This is kinda long, bear with me. I tend to ramble cuz i dont wanna leave any detais out.

After installing my VAFC II my car would start up fine, but sometimes die right after. The rpms would jump up then make their way back down to 0 where it would die, unless i gave it some gas, then it was fine. It went away after a day or so, but everythings hooked up right and properly working.

The reason for all this is because this morning I started my car and it acted like it was choking itself, like it was about to die, but different from described above. Its been doing this few a days now, but im so busy w/ school/work just figured id get it checked out when i took it to the dealer on wednesday. Its weird cuz it only starts like that when its been sitting for a while, like overnight. If i drive somewhere, turn it off, then turn back on, it starts fine and drives fine. Im not dyno tuned yet, but prior to this morning, performance was still great, I ran about 2 car lengths behind a G35 coupe Sat. night, I had 3 passengers (all of us over 200 lbs.) in my car to his 1 passenger.

Anyway, I gave it a lil gas and it eventually idled fine. However, once i started driving, i had almost hardly any torque and no SES. It worried me because i know i have an oil consumption problem and have read horror stories (i think child uv korn) about engine seizing bc he had almost no oil. And yes i check my dipstick, it always reads full, no matter how long i let the car sit. So i pulled over a block from my house, shut the car off, let it sit. After a few minutes, started it back up and there was an SES. Im hoping its my MAF and not something more serious. I was fixin to take it to the dealership for 3rd gear grind and above problem so I just put my stock intake back on 2 days ago. Maybe i messed up the MAF somehow?

I remember reading how puppetmaster had no torque after installing his VAFC II. Also machinehead had MAF problems after VAFC II and had to get a new one. Puppet or anyone, what was ur problem, did you have to get a new MAF? If this has been covered in ur thread, sorry, just point me in the right direction. I didnt take any chances, got it towed to the dealership. Im waiting on a call back from them w/ the code and diagnosis.

Any insight appreciated. MAF? Fuel pump? Spark plugs? What else? Its weird it would die like that right after installing the VAFC, but then it went away. Also, What else could make it choke like that upon initial start up but start fine after its been running for a lil bit? Sorry for the novel, i just wanna get my only car running good again.

WOW its good to be back! I was going through withdrawals. I had a coilpack out and need new spark plugs. Coilpack and labor covered under warranty, $60 something for new plugs, no charge for labor. They said the maf was just acting up, kind of a strange anomalae. (sp?) Its running good now, its not even starting funny. They didnt have the coils in stock so Im taking her in first thing in the morning for the work. THey didnt mention anything about any mod done to the car! They're also gonna look at the third gear grind, do an oil change and start a monitoring program w/ the oil consumption issue. Im just gonna start changing my oil at the dealership now. My MT-90 trans. oil came in tonight, nice timing, so hopefully they can throw that in there too.
