Hey, I just joined so I thought I would go ahead and start asking a few questions. I just got a 2001 Maxima SE/AE two weeks ago and I figure enough time has passed to start modifying. I'm wondering what different headlamps people have tried. The stock bulbs are fine on low-beam with the fog lights on, but high beams seem rather weak. I wanted to do a simple bulb change instead of changing the system for HID or changing the wires. Any information about the bulbs and prices would be a great help.

This hsould help:

Front Headlights H4 (55w/60w)
Fog Lights H3 (55w)
Front Turn signals 1157 (double filament)
Front Side Markers 194 (simple wedge bulb)
Step Light (on the door inside the car) 194 (simple wedge bulb)
Map Light 1156
Dome Light Torpedo style bulb. (you need the smallest one i think it is a wedge bulb).
Rear side markers 194 (simple wedge bulb)
Rear Brake Lights 1157 (double filament)
Rear Turn Signals 1156 (single filament)

Now just go to eBay.com and type in for the search "H4 55w" or "1157 Bulb" and now you can buy all your bulbs!

We should make this a sticky!

Welcome to our addiction...

I purchased bulbs from plasmalights.com through ebay. Just type in "2000 maxima" in the general search and you'll find all sorts of mods. I chose plasmalights because they have a lifetime warranty and they perform and look great. They put off a really intense white/bluish hue. I didn't notice much of a difference with the high beams, but I think it's more due to the headlight case design than the bulbs. Then again, I live in the 'burbs so they probably get washed out with the street lights. I paid @ $16.00 including shipping and they are listed continuously in case you lose the first bid. Best of luck...
