I have installed about 8 spoliers in my day, including a Lexus GS300, a 2001 Honda Accord Coupe, Mazda Millenia, Toyota Corolla.

The key is when you get the spoiler, you get these plastic strips that go into the screw holes. Once you got the spoiler EXACTLY lined up on the car, tape down the plastic strips. Then lift the spoiler and all that is left is the plastic strips taped to the trunk of your car. Then in most cases you take a small drill bit, something like a 1/16" and drill right into the plastic strip where the screw holes are. Then take the strip off and drill the larger hole to let the screw pass through.

Once that is done, all you gotta do is wire the spoiler if you got the third brake light on it, and screw and bolt it in.

But remember the key is to line up the spoiler exactly and then drill the pilot holes and then the larger holes. Be very careful and precise, because aint no turning back after the first hole is made.

Whoa-ho! Hey now! Putting on a RSB is one thing... installing a spoiler is another. Putting on the RSB was like putting on a band-aid. Mess up and you can still futz around with it. Putting on a spoiler is like open heart surgery. Mess up and there ain't no going back.

Maybe we can take you to a reliable shop that offers really good pricing. Cause as much as I like to help... I ain't putting on no spoiler. Sorry buuuuuu-ddy.

How much would a shop charge to install a spoiler?

I believe a decent charge would be about $50-75 to install it. If the shop painted it, they may charge no more than $50.

What about rustproofing?

If you install the spoiler yourself, or to anyone who has installed it themselves, what do you treat the bare metal with once you've drilled? I have to install the side sills to my body kit this weekend and I'm going to have to drill through metal. I was thinking about the "undercoating in a can" stuff. It rains a lot here, and there's a lot of salt in the air. So in about 4 years, it'll rust.
