Alternator Theory.. not really question

Ok.. this is more of a drain in HP caused by the Alt.

This could be an alternative to udp's..

A while ago I saw some experiment to illustrate what an alternator does.. someone was pedaling a bike that was turning an alternator.. they slowly added components, headlights, etc. and it made the bike harder to pedal, then they added a battery and they guy couldn't pedal anymore.. there was too much strain caused by having the battery on there... So.. here's my theory.. hook up some relays wired to a switch on the dash to disconnect the batter while driving.. the car and all components will run happily off of the alt. and not charge the battery.. the reason for the switch would be to turn it on when power isn't requried so that the battery can charge so you'll be able to start the car when you stop next ...

Whadaya think? Is it crazy? I'm out of town.. I'll try it on the rental 626 I've got this week

Man that is one crazy idea! The things people will do to free up a horsepower. In my opinion, messing with electrical components in your car can only lead to trouble.
