I figured he'd win, but I wanted to race anyway.
I could see an older (92ish) 5.0 stang coming up on my on the highway. He pulled up next to me and revved his engine, so I revved back. His sounded like a harley or something, so he at least had exhaust and some kinda crazy intake. So we both swerve into the far lane with me right behind him. I threw it in third and the race was off. His car was pretty loud and I was keeping up.... But then all of a sudden, I guess he decided to floor it. Hehe, I had no chance. It felt like I was standing still. Oh well, still fun anyway.

 

Uggh, He might have been BOTTLE fed!

I have a friend with a 91 5.0,and he runs consistent mid 12's. One more scary thing...he's an automatic. POS's out of the box, but probably one of the easiest cars there is to mod, not to mention cheapest.

 

i have beaten a stock 93 5.0 in the highway before... but never raced a modified stang. i know there are a lot of them tho.

 

the amount of mods available for those is unreal.... probably one of the easiest cars to mod and make really really fast....

 

heh good thing I beat that M5 right after. He was a joke. (hehe... riiiiiiight.)

 

I ran into the same thing about 6mos ago. I think it might have actually been a Cobra - ohh well, was fun anyway!!

 

I just killed a GT Mustang today Not a 5.0, but it was a GT Convertable, 97 (4.6L) with rims and larger tail pipes. Yes it was a real GT and he was trying and I know my domestics.

Anyhow, to 70 from a stop, 3 card lead Was great fun, we did it 3 times. One of the runs I was behind him at a light, because of trafic and I was still able to drive around him and still pass. He was ****ed clearly visable with his top down I'm guessing his was Auto. 4.6L Auto is not too fast to start with, and I figured being a drop top didn't help. Was a good kill though.

All I have is a K&N and Cattman Y-pipe. The rest are suspension mods. Wife is using it from early mornings to 1pm now, so I'm driving a lightly moded but not ready yet late modle C4 vette.


No one wants to buy the infiniti from here, so I will keep it till late 02, and look as some cars like the new G35, or a BMW 330i. Till then, I think I will get Don's VB mod, a TQ converter, and 75 Shot of NOS. When you drive a sports car, its still GREATER fun to beat people in a 4 door !!
