I bought it for my car but I need to order a 50 shot jet instead of the 70 jet that came with the NOS Kit. I am still waiting for the intructions to come out on maximadriver.com so that I don't have to pay $50 to an old smelly guy.

Which kit do you own? I got my NOS kit from JC Whitney and it came with a 50, 60, & 70 jet.

The kit is easy to install but pictures are always great! That helped me the most It took me 2 weeks taking my time and doing little at a time. You'll spent more time trying to find the locations for teh soleniods & mounting teh bracket for the bottle was kinda a paint. Gotta bend the plastic a lot to get to the screws.

I would share my experience but i own a 4th gen sorry. Unless you want to hear it>

Holy Crap! You ran a 14.42 with just a Y-pipe and PR CAI? What were your times stock? Oh yeah I have a NOS kit on my 2001 Max 5sp but now I feel depressed because with the NOS I am still running slower than you.

madmax ran a 14.38 w/ just a y and cai...you should feel even more depressed

i think madmax dyno'd around 203 hp to the wheels...you should dyno w/ the nos

Has anyone seen a trap speed higher than 98.11mph for an NA Max? That is quick for sure! If he hit that 60ft a bit better he would have had that 14.38. Us 2K+ 5spd owners with intake and Y-pipe should have no worries about the auto 3.5 or the stock altima 5spd (based on the buttered up released numbers) for now. I love the way my car pulls in third and fourth!

Yikes...your mods added almost 5 mph?!?!?

Was the atmospheric pressure high when you ran at the track and/or dyno?

Easily!

I checked my slips from the same day I ran the 14.38 with a 2.13 60 ft, and on the runs where I ran a 2.20 short time, I finished the 1/4 in the 14.5 range, with a slightly higher trap speed than on my best ET run.

the humidity was real low, in the 20-30 range, and was a cool night, i mean 70-73. i have not duplicated that run, most are in the 14.5-14.9 range with mph from 95-96.7.

if i could remember exactly what i did, i would keep doin it, but i remember i dumped the clutch at a shade under 3000 rpm.

Yeah...low humidity really helps. And, its impossible to get your best time every time

Try holding the revs at about 4500 rpm and riding the clutch out slowly, just on the edge of traction. What I mean is try to let the clutch as fast as you can, without spinning the tires. Its a fine balancing act, but by doing this, I was able to better my "clutch dump" ET every time.

If you can pull that off, and you get a nice cool/low humidity night, Ill bet we will have a new 5th gen N/A champ
