I just saw a couple of 02's this morning, and I'm not all that impressed. Those new tail lights look cheesy, and that big hamburger emblem on the new front grill has got to go. The only things my car don't have that that one does is 28HP, and some sweet HID lamps. Which look like will fit early gen5's. the ballists for the hid bulbs are right on the back of the healamp assembly. I'm just wondering how much the whole sha-bang will cost??

yeah you are right....the only thing that matters to me is that 28HP and that torque,Navigation system,HID

Nissan said the SE will cost 200 bucks more for MSRP...

Really, so your car has heated steering wheel, six disc changer, six speed tranny, memory seats, HLSD diff. etc..
I realize some of these are options but my point is there are some really decent small things nissan has done to the 2k2. I agree about the tail lights but thats is a cheap swap out with 2k1 se taillights. To me this is a much better car, and a bigger jump than from the 2k to the 2k1ae.

I think that in a way, to get a 2002 is a stupid mistake. Reason being is that the 2003 will be out by the end of next year with a whole NEW look. Why stick with the 2002 that looks like just like 2000. So what if it has those extra 5 options. You can always order most of those parts.

Sure its a new look, but word is it will get bigger, heavier (if awd is avaliable) and there is no way nissan is gonna up the power over what the 2k2 has now. Maybe a small tweak here and there. Its all hindsight anyway you look at it. As for ordering parts, I cant see anyone paying for a HLSD upgrade thats crazy, same with six speed tranny. Little things like taillights, sure. I dont even think the hid swap is really worth the cash, but some will definitely do it.

yes, all of that stuff is nice. Infact I think that most of the upgrades and add-ons should have been there since 2k.

I was in Tucson and rented a 2k altima while there. I noticed a couple of things the alti has that the max didn't. One being the turn-signal side illumination lamps (helps at night in Arizona!), and two (something really small) the little eyeglass holder had a nice gear-driven opening action (the max has that cheap flip down one from a hyundai).

All in all though, the 2k2 is a much more refined car on the inside. I sat in a gle and an se which both felt somehow more luxo (if not a little tuetonic).
