you will have to cut off a small part of a metal bracket that is on the driver side strut tower...

no, it's just a part of a metal bracket that holds the air box

Sort of. You saw the reply noting that you have to cut into the air box bracket, but there is another problem. The 4th Gen bar does not raise high enough over the wiring harness at the back of the engine. You actually have to push the bar down on the wire harness during the install. This is not good -- the engine moves around a little during driving while the strut bar does not. I would expect some insulation to eventually be cut or worn off to cause a variety of problems. I would stick with a bar that fits.

o~k...the 4th gen front strut tower bar will NOT work on a 5th gen. reason? because, the 5gen engine has higher intake manifold which prevent you from using a straight FSTB...if you look at a 5th gen FSTB and a 4th gen FSTB, you'll notice that it's different..

thanks u beat me to it.... as a matter of fact stillen sent me the strut tower brace for the 4th gen and me not knowin any different out it on and took it for a spin but heard wierd knocking.... i get home check it out and realize that the engine flex was causing the engine to hit the strut tower brace and boy was i ****ed! i thought that it looked close but i had no clue.... so the answer is NO.... it has been tried but not on purpose dont do it u r wasting ur money!
