I had my H&R installed on Friday. Wow they are awesome! I have a RSB and FSTB and these just seem to smooth it all over. Higher speed stability is excellent. Cornering is significantly better. The ride is a little more bumpy with them but not a big deal at all. I have a question for existing H&R owners. How long does it take for the springs to full settle? I was told by my mechanic that they do settle a little lower over time. Is this true?

I hear that aftermarket springs do settle a little lower, not sure how much though or how long it takes. BTW, how much did they cost and what is the drop on them? Don't forget to take some pictures

congrats. i'm hoping to place an order for the springs soon. i was wondering how much you paid for them? and if you did just the springs and not the struts or shocks?

any pics???

have fun.

1.4" front
1.3" rear

I just changed the springs. I figured why would I keep the stock struts? I might as well use them until they die since they are already paid for. Then switch up to aftermarket struts. The car handles very very well. I'm running 34psi on my stock tires as well. As I said the stability at high speeds is excellent and handling has significantly improved. I paid $225.00US for the springs install with alignment was $210US. There is no wheel gap in the back and still some in the front. It is the perfect drop since it isn't too aggressive and definetly not 4x4 anymore.

Funny you mention that. My car seemed to feel better and looked a little bit lower at the end of the day today. I think they might be settled now. Nice springs eh?

You will also need a spring compressor.

yup, i know i need the compressor. a couple of friends told me i can get one fom discount auto parts for a deposit and that i get the deposit back when i return it. sounds like a good deal for me.

oh, and i haven't tried it yet, but i've seen some people get the springs for $206 shipped. basically they went to www.autob1.com and found the springs for 219, i believe. then they went to carpats.com and they pricematched the 219 and did a 10% off too. so the final price was $197, plus the shipping. i hope this works, cause that seems like an awesome deal.

Thanks they are pretty awesome with the rsb and fstb. Doesn't not feel like a Maxima anymore that is for sure. Do you have any details on the show? Website? If I go I will have a full VR station built into the car...that should get the Max some attention. Will you have your body kit installed by then?

www.importfest.com

Yeah .. I should have everything by then ... the only thing is whether I should install the GC Coilovers or not since I'll be using stock struts ... I'm waiting for the KYB AGX's ... or even thinking about Cattmans gen 2 coilovers ...

It took about 2-3 weeks for it to at where it goes below the line of the back tire. I found that I like the grip in tight turns but confortable on straight away bumps and potholes...it does tend to bottom out on speed bumps.

But more importantly welcome to the concrete scraper club because you'll actually scrape some speed bumps if you go to fast.

All and All I'm happy with the look. Next is the tokicos adjustable shocks.

LSD

I'm really feeling the LSD now in corners wHoAoa
Seriously though I'm noticing the LSD kicking in with hard cornering. ie I feel the outside wheel power kick in on the apex of the corner (when I hit the gas) pulling me through the corner. It was obviously doing that before these springs but I can feel it now for sure....very cool indeed!

Congrats! Another H&R owner in the fold.

Guchi: Bottoming out happens but very rarely. Did you cut the bumpstops in your install?

I myself had one bumpstop **** thingy cut off each one. Just got in and I parked right beside a Blue AE and my car looked lower for sure....not dramatic but noticable. I'm now noticing how friggin' 4x4 the stock Maxima is now that I'm lower.

Congrats! I'm sure you'll come to like them even more. I'm not sure my "settled" too much. I measured them a couple months later and the drop is exactly as advertised now.

yeah, i'll definately wait to see your pics, expecially for that price. i believe they go pretty low too. i'm not planning on going lowrider, and i kinda want the ride to go unchanged, although i know it will change. but that is why i'm planning on the hr's, cause they ride close to SE stock and they drop moderately, but i'll wait to see what you have to say about those.

Strut Death

I understood that lowering your car on the stock struts/shocks made them die at a young age, am I right?

Are you suppose to cut the bumpstops? I had a speed shop install the springs.

It was highly recommended by my installers, Y2KevSE and Turbo95Max.
