What about renting a 2002 maxima and taking them from the car. they would never know, you'd have the clips and everything. that would be a $100 mod so you could have the car for 3 days.

P.S there is a difference betweem the 2001 and 2002

 

Yeah, good idea, but make sure you don't replace the headlights at all, just leave the empty space. While you are at it, steal the engine and then try to return the car back to where you rented it, they will never notice.

 

I would do it.
As long as you get the insurance they will never know.
Be sure to do it under you company's name.
In fact I will do that.

I think I'll rent a 2002 6 speed the same color as my 2001, swap the VIN tags, do some careful pealing/swapping of the rental car company's bar code sticker, and swap the license plates, of course. I'll rent it for two weeks so it sounds more reasonable that I put 7500 miles on it while I rented...

damn, why don't you steal the washer fluid, air bags, stereo amplifier, and other parts that the dealer WON'T notice are gone? as opposed to the #1 styling element that sets the 2 cars apart?

Only problem there is that the wiring is MAD different and I dont think you could get the 2K lights on a 2K2 MAX without some MAJOR wiring harness/plug connectors.

This would require some major planning and parts on had, dont even think it would be work it, and secondly, I am sure the Dealer or the place you rented it from would know the lights are different.
