Just got a refund from the Nissan dealer that cut my rotors last year. Armed with the freshly printed TSB from our good 'ole sticky TSB thread, I calmly sauntered into the service office and diplomatically requested a refund for the rotor job. The service guy took about 5 minutes to talk to the service manager who authorized the refund. Looks like I'll be a repeat customer. It seems that some service departments value their customers. Without the forum (and of course the TSB) I wouldn't have a foot to stand on.
Of course, it goes without saying that the real winner here is the 5th Gen forum and the service it provides to us 5th Geners.
Peace....

Hmmmmm
How many miles did you have on your car? I asked the service dept. today about the rotors....and they told me that since I have more than 12k...they would have to charge me. I told them no thanks....I can definetely go to somewhere else and have them do them for a better cost than Nissan. He tolod me to just wait until my break pads wear out....oooookkkkeeeedoookkee I am not sure I can wait that long....it is a good thing I don't have to use my brakes much!

.My suggestion is to print the TSB, take it over there and shove it in their face, highlighting the "covered under the 36,000/3 year warranty" statement. If they don't want to honor it, calmly tell them that a complaint will be lodged with Nissan USA because they are not covering something under the warranty. If they are smart, they'll do it.
