HIDs are installed

i used bigdog's writeup cuz it seemed a lot simpler. i'll probably redo it to ice's once i see the relay install.
they look nice and they're really not that difficult to install. everything works great, other than the HIDs going off with the high beams.
total time for both sides: 3 1/2 hours being very careful.

you will definitely need the stock connectors however. the headlamp assembly alone doesn't include any of the connection pieces. call daveb.

hehe, nice lights. went driving tonight, along the LONG way home. if you can believe it, i left a bachelor part early cuz when the restaurant valet brought my car out, i couldn't believe the lights. so i missed the strippers, i'll live. bad thing is, the hids really make the stock fog lights' yellow tint come out. gotta get some h3's.
as for ice's writeup, i will eventually incorporate some of his ideas into my permanent wiring. like i said, it's simply too involved for an electrical novice like myself to tackle without getting comfortable working on my car. but that complexity does make me kinda uneasy because i feel like i'm leaving a lot of things out. relays will definitely go in as well as some solution for the high beams.

another option, albeit a costlier one, is to get a real set of lights down there. like some PIAA 1000's or 959's. but that's a whole other deal...

Don't cut any of the theft alarm wires. The theft realy 2 (marked horn 3 on the relay box cover) needs to be removed and the two coils leads jumpered (use two male spades with a short length of wire). this will keep the headlamps from flashing, but will still have the horn sound.

Theft relay-2 bypass
By removing Theft Horn Relay 2, the headlamp circuit will be removed from the theft circuit. This will be needed if you install 2002 HIDs and are concerned that activating the theft circuits may harm the ballast. From some new postings, it appears that moving from Auto to On will not harm the ballast, but the 50 second pulsing for the theft circuit may.
Does anyone know if the 2002 has the same theft circuit and if just the highbeams flash?
Anyway, on to the mod.
1. Open the top of relay box 1 (on passenger side, same box that has fog lamp relay)
2. The theft horn relay 2 is the second relay, starting at the firewall side, toward the engine. Blue and rectangular, not square.
Firewall side
-------------
| | |
| | Fog |
F | | |
e -------------
n | |This |
d | |relay| Engine
e | | |
r -------------

|Open | |
| | |
3. Remove relay by releasing white tab (use small, flat blade screwdriver)
4. Check top of relay to see which connectors are 1 and 2 (coil side)
5. Make jumper using 2 male .25 inch flat connectors and a piece os 14 or 16 gauge wire about two to three inches long. Crimp connector to each end of wire.
6. Put one connector into connection 1 and the other into connection 2.
7. Replace relay cover box.
As with any rewiring project, unforeseen problems may arise with other circuits with your car. Do this mod only at your own risk.

Ill post those numbers up on monday.
However for now your need to order
2 B4343-10Y05 These are the HID harnesses one for each side.
There is one more harness you gotta order from Nissan (will have part number tomorrow) and you have to go to auto zone, pep boys etc. and buy 2 9005 sockets (2.49 each)

Dude, does you're EGO need stroking or what? This is like the 3rd post stating, "remeber I was the FIRST to get them installed", "oh you guys don't appreciate me", whatever.
If it wasn't for MY foot-work, MY persuading Dave B. it could be done, and MY effort you wouldn't even have known it was possible. I had them wired and working LONG before you. Plus, I had them working the correct way.
First, you pressure Dave B. into sending you MY headlamps ASAP, so you can get them first almost causing me not to recieve them before I left town. Second, you claim how you're going to install them in like 15-minutes, which was BS. Third, you HAMMER them into the car which was NOT necessary after all. Fourth, you don't spend enough time to even get them wired correctly, so the HIDs stay on with the High beams.
I tried and tried to let it go, but dude you just keep stating oh how your the MAN when your nothing more than a guy who jumped on the band-wagon. LAST, the whole time you're acting like the BIGGEST A$$HOLE on Earth for NO reason. Get a life and please, $hut Up!
