only if you touch the bulb when installing. When i installed my H4 and H3 xenons I cleaned them over real well with alcohol a couple times just to be safe. Different bulb but same principle applies to all bulbs. shouldn'tbe aproblem with shattering at all PEEEAAAACCEEE
