Developed a circuit to flash the HIGHBEAM portion of the 2k2 headlamps with the theft circuit.

Wired highbeams as per Ice's diagrams (power from battery, gorund for relay through switch).

Added another relay with the contact side between the highbeam ground side and a body ground. Coil side of new relay will receive it's input from the theft horn relay 2 instead of having the theft horn relay 2 providing power to the headlamp relays as currently wired. This will provide the ground for the highbeams as the theft circuit "pulses".

Will work on circuit diagrams. If someone can tell me how to post those diagrams I will do so. (Don't have a web page currently, and I plan to make the diagrams in excel to make it easier for most people to read.)

Check with Ice to see if he will post...Since yours is an addition to his, that would be a good fit.

Need to reevaluate my proposed circuit. Looks now like the method I had thought would work will disable the horns as well.

Back to the drawing board.

I believe I already figured it out.

Cut the pink wire from terminal-6 of the Joint Connector-16 and connect it to the HELLA relays coil side(Terminal 85) wire. Therefore, the Theft Relay-2 will work the same for the horns, but also provide a ground to the coil side of the HELLA relay causing it to close and the HI-beams to flash.

Sound good? Now I just need the time and energy to get out and do it.

The pink wire you refer to provides the ground to the two headlamp relays. If you connect this to the new Hella relay one of two things will happen. 1) ground provided to the headlamp relays and headlamps will still flash or 2) with two relays in series, the voltage drop across each relay may not be enough to close the relay.

There is two PINK wires that connect to the RELAYS. One that provides a ground through Theft Relay - 2(EL-287) for flashing the headlamps during the ALARM and the other that connects to the Headlamp Battery Saver Control Units' terminal 8 and 2(Page EL-38: connector E81/M15) for constant operation whenever the light combo switch is on. Therefore, if you "redirect" the PINK#1 wire you will allow the relays to energize when that ALARM triggers causing the HI-beams to flash, but the combo switch will still operate as usual.

Do you agree?

Ice and Sixman,

Yall lost me since I dont have a diagram or anything to what you are guys pulling this info from. I guess I will just have to wait till I see a diagram like ICE's wiring diagram for the 2k2lights.
