Dealership charges

How many Max owners out there brought their car to the dealership? And do all of them charge you an estimated charge? The charges is for the diagnostic. If the car is under warranty and if there is a problem, then the charges is waived. If the tech or the dealship finds that the car is fine, then you would be charged for the diagnostic fee. Is this right for the dealership to do that? The service guy told me he need the pay the tech somehow. So what can I do? Call Nissan-1 and complain? The problem with my car is that I had my ECU reprogrammed and now it's making this funny noise and one dealship claimed it was normal. For those who had their ECU reporgrammed did you experience any engine noise? I'm a bit ****ed off with the dealership crap.

As long as the car is still under warranty, then they shouldn't be charging you for anything, as far as a dianostics test goes and replacement parts and stuff.

Just got back from the dealer. Punk A$$ was being a *$%#head. He said because nothing is broken and it's normal so then I was charged for the diagnostic fee. If something was to be replaced, then the warranty will be executed. Since everything is "normal" then I had to fork out the $. He was KIND enough to charge me 42 bucks instead of 84. I called 800-Nissan-1 and told about the diagnostic charge and they said it applies to all dealership. And if I feel that the dealership didn't do a good job, they recommend me to go take it to another place for a second opinion, which would cost another X amount for diagnostic fee. This is ridiculus. Warranty should be executed whenever there is something wrong with the car. Correct? Whether its normal or not. i mean it not normal to the users since it makes some weird noises. But it would be normal to the techs and the dealers. This sucks . And i thought our warranty was better than the Hondas. Because the Honda has some weird coverage too.

I would try and open a case with Nissan NA. Don't know if they would respond well, but it's worth a try. I just took mine in and had them look at the clutch, cause it felt soft, and no charge. I also had a TSB fixed, so maybe that's why.

the noise sounds like something is resetting back to a start position.
They said it was the AC something that is running or resetting. It's a winding down noise and clickings. No use. Don't even know where to start complaining from. Even Nissan Corp...800-Nissan-1 said they charge everyone. I guess if u're cool with the techs and the dealer then it's all good.

hey, I get that sound also. I can only hear it if the hood is open when I shut the car off. It is a clicking/winding noise that happens a few seconds after the car is shut off. I never really gave it much thought. I haven't had any reprogramming of my ECU.

ummmm

EVERYTHING is covered it the first 12K/1yr. thats rotors, radio *****, bulbs, tires, EVERYTHING. period. its a law.

after that, all bets are off.

you know... think about this. you may be ****ed at your dealer, but do you think they really *want* to charge you? do they really want the hassle and the ****ed off customer? no.

Given the fact that Nissan NA backed up that crap about the diag, maybe the dealer wont get paid. I've come to realize something about warranty. it appears that Nissan has jerked around all the service departments over the last few years. From my experience, they are really worried about service work getting denied. I've had to bring my warranty booklet in and start reading them parts of it to get what I needed done.. and Nissan still argued with them (the dealer).. then *I* had to call and read them the warranty manual. they still fought me but eventually had to give in because I was right. It wasnt the dealer's fault.

Now, I still hate the dealer because I have to fight them constantly and they seem not to care at all about my car. But I think the problem with these dealers is that they arent getting taken care of properly by NNA.

Unfortunately they will charge you when they find nothing wrong. That is they way it works with Nissan. The hard part is convincing them there is something wrong. I had to pay 75 bucks to have my idle adjusted at 15k miles. I felt that this should be covered but "adjustments" are only good for 12k miles. Bumpter to bumper my as*.

What kind of noise is the engine making?

Grrr...just got a chip in my windshield. I'm still under the 1yr/12k limit, will Nissan cover this? Is there a place where I can find this law or is it only in the warranty booklet? Appreciate your feedback.

My defroster seems to malfunction, and my dealer asked if I'd be willing to pay $150 if my aftermarket radio install is at fault. B.S. heh.

if your service advisor is loading you, see a manager, tell him you're not fully satisfied. Should you get a survey, trash them at it. If this wont work, see another Nissan dealer who wants your business.
