Annoying jerking & performance issues

I've noticed recently that my car doesn't seem to be performing up to its usual in some instances... for example:

-If I open it all the way for a fast acceleration (say entering the freeway or something). Then I have to back off the acceleration because maybe the car in front slowed, bringing it to around 1/3 throttle. But then get an opening and open it up again, the car will often hesitate, and performance will suck getting back up to speed.

I've noticed this along with it just generally feeling sluggish sometimes.

Anyone else encounter something similar? I want my consistent performance back! Mine's a 2k (build 4/99) with about 28k on it.

Thanks!

prolly O2 sensor related..

I have a OBD2 reader for a laptop that might help. We could work something out.. Or you could just buy one (<$100) for the cost of one DIAG at the dealer. which they WILL try to charge you go and they dont find anything (they never do). Thing is, you have to know what the codes are.. and what is spec.. for instance, the O2s will return a number.. you just have to know what spec is.. (I suspect a FSM would help there, which I dont have).

You could borrow it if you had the FSM. In return, I'd want the info you find so I could diag mine as well.

My car is running the same way. but it seems to have gone for the time being. i noticed it started happening after i had gone from mobil gas bach to chevron. i pondered this scenario and went to mobil gas again. It seems ok now but i think it's all in my mine. I think it has to do with the heat but who knows.
