Just installed Axxis-front
Hey guys, just like the thread said I did it yesterday, it took me longer than expected ( aprox 1 hr each side ). I did not had the time to write the how to do, but I will later this week. One thing that bother me a bit was the fact that the 2 front sets of Axis, were not identical, the 2K1 original brakes have some sort metal guide that act as a spring retainer that bring back the pad when the pressure is release.
When I first open the Axis front pad box, I saw that there was 2 pads with the metal guide and the 2 others without, anyway when I finded out it was was too late cuz the first caliper was already unmounted and disasamble, so I decided to go on and did it anyway, so for now one side have the guide and the other side not. I have been driving the car since yesterday and tested the brake and everything is just fine. I will call phuong tomorrow, maybe I received a 2k and 2K1 mixt. Even without the metal spring retainer on the pads the brakes will work well as long as the caliper is clean, cuz if the calipers are dirty, then the pads cannot slide back correctly. When I removed the first caliper I found the pads to be very thigh because of the dirt and I had to aplly a good pressure to move it out. After I finished to clean the first caliper the pads were slidding well back and forth, so for now braking is much better in front. The rear will be done sometimes this week.
Goodnight.
