finaly raced a tl-s
coming back from the pa meet a blue tl after toying around in traffic he catches an opening i was in 3rd cruising at 60mph when he tried to leave me i was stuck to his bumper and had to let up a little toward the end of 3rd to keep from hitting his car (could'nt pass because of traffic) ,when i hit 4th it was over and i started to walk away preety good but had to slow down for traffic.he tries to leave me again but the same thing happens, i think he was ****ed because he tried to pace me down the tpk while i'm dipping through traffic
when i race cl-s acuras from 60mph in 3rd they get about half a car on me before the end of my 3rd gear then i walk away ,but the tl-s definatly doesn't seem as quick,so how did the mags get faster times when the tl-s is heavier then a cl-s and has the same engine and tranny

Our 4th gear is very strong with especially with intake and Y-pipe. 60 isn't the best place for us to start since we are missing out on all the high rpm power of 2nd since we can get about 65 out of it. Starting around 70 is about perfect for 3rd gear IMO.
Car and Driver is the one who got a lower time for the Tl-S. Who knows how. Road and Track came in at 6.7 second for 0 to 60, and they explain how they got the time (drop clutch or whatever at however many RPM's). I don't even talk about Motor Trend because their times are always "fast" for some reason. Like PhatGuy said...marketing money from Acura.
After perusing the AcuratTl/CL-S forums, I've learnt their weakneses;
1. They may have a 5 speed auto, but 4th AND 5th are overdrive gears.
2. At 80 mph, the auto refuses to go back into 3rd gear. Us 5 speeders can downshift to 3rd, and buh bye!
3. Those new modern 5 speed autos trannies seem to be un-able to take the abuse. Several threads of tranny failures . . . .after less than 10K miles.
Oh, and I raced CL-S made him destroy his car. He didn't think I would be that much competition;
