What's the stock y-pipe made of made of?

Just wondering. . . it might influence decision to buy or not to buy 304 stainless steel...

the stillen pipe is not SS. I think it is a milder grade steel that is coated to protect against corrosion.

RUST!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine is rusting, the dealer told me I need a new one. Ridiculous, only 70k miles!

For mostly Sunny weather

For mostly sunny weather, a non-304SS pipe would be ok right? Assuming they all perform equally, would the only reason to get a SS pipe or a more expensive pipe be that they don't rust easily, or for the looks?

Kare-Kare... is that the one w/ the peanutbutter? I like adobo fried rice... give me headache afterwards though... haha

lol. yeah it's the peanut butter one. this thread makes me hungry everytime i read it.

and to try and keep on topic, i'd say the only reason for the SS pipe is not for looks but rather for the rust-less properties.

if you live in california or someplace where it does not rain much, the Stillen pipe should be fine. But if it snows where you live or rains, you are better off going with the cattman pipe....
