Time for new tires, would these fit?

Since I have 30.5K miles on my original stock tires now, I'm looking to upgrade and put on some new ones int the near future. I checked out tirerack.com and saw a set of Kumhos that I wanted, but they're 245/50/16's. I plan on lowering the car here sometime sorta soon with the H&R kit, so it's going to make any fitting even more difficult. Would these still fit with the H&R's or should I look smaller and narrower?

That's too wide. 7" is the minimum for that tire size. You have 16" rims, right? Those are 16 x 6.5.

You can put on 225/50R16 or 215/55R16.

7" minimum CANNOT fit a 245 safely at all. There has been a HUGE controversy with the 235 trying to fit on a 7" wheel and it is not recommeded by the DOT TIRE.

As a mattery of fact here is the EXACT SPEC TAKEN FROM KUMHO

245/50WR16------SIZE
1609lbs.-------MaxLoad
44psi-----------MaxPSI
10/32nds----TreadDpth
7.5" ------Rim(W) Minimum

Dont believe me, why not go and check out the specs at kumho yourself, Kumho Supra 712 SPECS

Do not put a 245 on a 7" rim, you are risking safety. If that is what you want to do, it is your car.

Thanks for the input. The last thing I wanna do is endanger the car, but I figured I'd ask anyways. I wanna go a little wider, so I'll probably get the 225's. Will these throw off the speedo much?

Stock tire being 215/55/16 moving to a 225/50/16 is going to throw your speed too fast by 1.8%

Now if you move to a 235/50/16 it will only throw your speedo too fast by 0.2% But then again you SHOULD not put a 235 tire on a 6.5" width rim.

Dont worry about the 1.8% and stay safe.
