2002 I35

I got the I30 now. Do you think I should trade it in for an I35? I have 3200 miles on the car (brand new) If I did this, how much extra do you think I would have to pay? thanks.

Like me you got a nice car but missed out on the extra HP and extra goodies but still you've got a NICE car so keep it and be happy with it, it's still an eyecatcher

too soon

If you ask me the 2002 is too close to the 2001 to "trade up"

The few extra HP and minor changes isn't worth it. I would wait for the next major redesign. (rear wheel drive? V-8??)

I agree and that is my current plan.

I think it makes less sense for a I30 to trade up to and I35 than a 2001 Max to trade up to a 2002. You guys already have a beautitful interior and many of you already have HID.

Don't do it. Not very smart because soon in a few years more than likely, another type will come out. Skip a gen and get the better car. If you absolutely had to trade you car in,why not go cheaper with the Maxima? I35=255 hp, Maxima=255 hp

if you trade your I30 for 2k2 Maxima SE, you may come out even, but are you willing to sacrifice the luxury of Infinity?

Keep the I30

Although the new I35 sounds nice--heck, more performance is always nice--some of the changes do not appeal to me.

Namely, I'm very partial to my I30t's vertical-slat grill over the I35's horizontal one. And the I30t's wheels are so much nicer, in my opinion, than those multi-spoke I35 wheels they show on nissannews.com. (Admittedly, I have still not seen an I35 in person; while sadly, I have seen far too many 2002 ES300s.)

And I just got my car tinted, so I am really liking the looks of it right now. It's not going anywhere.

I just don't think there's enough to the I35 to even be thinking of trading up until the new generation arrives.

I'd do this...

If I was in your position, I'd keep the i30 for at least another year or year and a half. let's face it, any way you slice it you're gonna lose money if you trade now or later. Wait about a year or year and a half and look into a 2003 i35 or whatever else come out by that time. You've got a nice car as it is and it's got all the goodies ( except the powere) that the I35 has.

go to the dealer and see how much they would give you for your car, then decide if you gonna trade in for I35 or 2002 maxima. If its a few grands then i believe it won't hurt you. also I suggest going on the 2002 maxima because it looks much more sportier.

I30 trade for I35

I too would like the new I35. Let's face it 255hp, new 17in. wheels, Sojourner leather, trip computer, 6-disc in-dash. I have been reading about it for several months now. I have 25k on my Max. The difference between my Max and a new I35 is roughly 8k, and my payment would go up $70-80 per month. At this point I decided that I will keep my Max, add new wheels(SSR GT1's), new stereo(kenwood flip face, boston acoustics pro-series speakers, kicker sub, phoenix gold 400 watt amp, courtesy fstb, V1 radar detector, 2002 tails, clear side-markers, eibach pro-kit springs, colored mud guards, custom b-pipe, magnaflow or 2002 Max muffler. In other words I will drop about 4 grand, but absolutely luv my car til the 6th gen Max comes out. Hopefully it will be a V-8, rear-wheel drive, based on the Altima platform. Then I will drop my $$$ for a new car. Enjoy ur luxury sedan, powered with one of the best performing cars in the world.

Well you can't wait forever either...5 years from now the I will be even better. If he trades now he will have lost less than if he were to trade later.
I'd still stick with the i30...depending on how much $ you're willing to give up.
