2001 pricing

I posted on general discussion board also. Please help a newbie out. How much over/under invoice should I expect to pay on a 2001 leftover. I would like to go this weekend.

Check edmunds.com. They still have the 2001 prices and their TMV (true market value) may help you on deciding what's a fair price.

I just got my 2001 SE/Auto in September for $25,513. It has everything except for the Meridian Package, Traction Control, and 6 Disc CD Changer. I used Carsdirect.com to purchase the car and within 2 days I picked up the car, signed my paperwork and I was driving my new Max home. At the time the car was about $1000 below invoice. I didn't have to haggle with a sales guy or anything. Carsdirect did all the leg work. Hope this helps.

Unless you get an unbelievable deal, I would just go with the 02'.
Just remember that when you drive off of the lot you will lose 5k-7k in depriciation because you now own a car that is one year old.

I was acually waiting for the new altima to come out and then I ran across my SE at a Ford dealership. I knew the sales manager very well and he sold me my SE for $18k and it only had 9k miles on it! 5spd, leather, bose, sunroof, 17" wheels. It turns out that the guy that owned it before me traded the car for a Cobra and they gave him a whopping 17.5k for the car.

So just remember that if you are the type to keep a car for a while you should be ok with the 01', but if you might want to get rid of it in a few you might still be too upside down.
