Anti-freeze

I tried using the search on this and was not able to do so.

Here is my concern, on my 2000 Max GLE, the anti-freeze is green, the new anti-freeze that I was going to use, appears to be red. Now, I looked at the manufacturers statement on the bottle and it said DEX was the one that should be used, I think the brand is Zerex. Prestone, makes one that is for "All" makes and models, but it is a yellowish color.

Is it me being to cautious to trust this? The guy at the autoparts store has a 2005 Altima and he said his antifreeze is green.

The Haynes manual says to use ethylene glycol and the red appears to have the right mix, but I am concerned about the color. Any one else have the same concerns when changing the coolant/anti-freeze?

Thanks!

Colors do not matter. Ethylene glycol is in all antifreezes. Use what you got. If it matters, I got a '01 and it's green.

you got the wrong one btw, cuz Dex-Cool are usually used found on GM cars, there is regular, and Dex-Cool, but your case you got the wrong one but it's not going to harm it.

Your right, however, I was in an Autoparts store today and the bottle on the back said for Asian cars use DEX, which is red. They all have the ethylene glycol, but this bottle chart said DEX. The Prestone is yellowish and for all makes. I was stopped by the color red.
