something is wrong with my infiniit i35. it won't start. read

ok i have an 2002-2003 infiniti i35 with 44,000 miles and my car broke down the in the past two days. On friday i was driving and all of a sudden my brake and battery lights turns on and it was weird i could not go any faster than 5mph. i went to autozone and brought a new battery that had a 750 cold crank amps. when the battery was installed my car brake light and battery was still on. i then knew something was wrong with my alternator. maybe i am running to much in my car. i have an custom 2.25 exhaust with a apexi ws2 catabck, injen cold air intake, unorthodoxracing pulley, sun voltage ground system, and kenwood headunit. in the summer i always have my ac on at 60-65 degrees with the music on. my question to everyone is did anyone ever have to change the alternator at less than 50k. in the future i plan on buying an kinetix intake manifold and some nissan works spacers so i do not want to run into this problem again. also, what tool is used to remove the idler pulley. is it hard work. thanks
