Slow Timing

Standard timing for my 5th gen is set at 14 degrees. I checked mine and it was down around 10 degrees. I bumped it to 12 and have not had a chance to check it again since then. I can probably get ahold of a used ECU. Does anybody know whether swapping the ECU might help?

Are you talking about dynoing it? I did it today but I'm not sure what the results say about timing issues. Max HP was about 190 at 5.5k rpms. Curve was not very steep. I'll try to post it.

No, I mentioned nothing of dynoing. Use the logger, and log (record timing advance in *) a run through the RPM's. Then post the #'s. If you put down 190, I wouldn't be worried about it. But I would be concerned that peak is @ 5500.

Mine is @ 12 sometimes @ idle in gear, but @ 17 or so in P/N. (for reference values, readings should be taken in P/N, via FSM)
