Hi, just bought a 2002 Maxima SE and whenever I accelerate, there is a buzzing/rattling noise coming from the undercarriage of the car. When I take my foot off the accelerator the car is completely quiet, no rattling. Also when going over bums there is a rattling noise. Sounds like it is coming from right under the car in between driver and passenger side. Any insight as to what this may be would be appreciated.

bang on the cat converter, if it rattles, theres your prob, check for gasket leaks around the exhaust also at the flanges and check the exhaust hangers.

check the heat shield, same thing happened to me.

My guess also would be the heat shield. Had same noise, that was the problem.

I had the same problem and lo and behold it was the heat shield.
