got a problem with my max
thought i woukd ask the forum
my max is an 02 se 6spd

the first symptom started a week ago
cruise will turn off when ever the rpm need to rise (hill or hitting the gas or hitting the accel button)

the second symptom started a few days ago
it revs when the gas is pressed like the clucth is slightly engaged, but its not, it does this right after a shift and if the revs or over 2500, it also does this if i punch the gas, itll just rev like the clucth is engaged

i would guess the clucth is going out, but my previous car's clucthes did not feel like this when they went out

can anyone help?

maybe a Throttle position sensor fo the first one, not real sure on that one. and from the sound of it, i would say your clutch is on its last leg.

 

i think they are related because now that problem 2 is worse, my cruise wont stay on at all

my check engine light is not on, and has not come on, all those fixes are for things that the check engine light would come on for

 

OK, if you say so....then don't do it.

 

if you dont want to trust people and try it....dont start a thread asking for help

 

Most of the time, you have to figure out what IS NOT the problem to figure out what the real problem is...


Go through all of those and if it's still there, dig deeper.

People want a quick easy answer without putting in any real effort.

 

A slipping clutch would definitely cancel cruise.
