Looking for steel wheels in junkyard for winter tires
Looking for steel wheels in junkyard for winter tires
I am going to hit up a few junkyards to find a cheap set of steel wheels that I can mount my winter tires on. My question is, what other cars are condidates in terms of offset and lug pattern that can be used on the maxima. I assume I can use 94+ wheels from other maximas. What about other makes?
Most all 94+ wheels should work fine for you as long as they are 15" or bigger. As for other companies honda, toyota, lexus, ford mustangs and maby others like taurus, mitsubishi, and I believe kia's and hyundi. All should have the same bolt patterns as long as they are the 5 lug versions. I'm not so sure about any of there offsets and center hub bore though. I'm sure others will imput also.
Discount tire and Tirerack.com sell universal 5 lug wheels that work for pretty cheap new.

5x114.3 is = to 5x4.5 and is not a offset it is a bolt pattern.
Most wrecking yards will put wheels on a balancer and spin them to check for major runout or bends. I've purchased many used wheels from wrecking yards for customers and have never had problems.
There’s a More Appropriate Forum for this Question
Dear monty31,
Thank you for visiting Maxima.org! Your stay here will be longer, more productive and infinitely more enjoyable for all involved if you direct your questions to the appropriate part of The Org!
While your question is, indeed, vaguely related to 5th Gen Maximas, it more specifically relates to Wheels and Tires. You are likely to get better, more specific help there.
Oh, and have I mentioned, search first, post second!
Thank you! Come again!

They probably fit (I haven't tried) but would not be a very good setup IMO.
I was thinking the same thing, Acura and honda wheels may have the same problem. I think this is only a problem on all the newer model stuff though but not sure

Ideally, it should be pretty easy to find some 4th gen steelies or 5th gen 16s for winter use.
another alternative are the g35 17s, which can be found really cheap on the G forums and are strong. That's what I use in the winter.
