Climate Control Light

I have a 2002 Maxima with the automatic climate control and the back lights of the "air recirculation" and the "manual air flow control" buttons are not working. I noticed this last night after turning on the lights. The other four buttons are lit up. How can I change the bulbs(if there are bulbs) behind these buttons. Thanks in advance, Ed.

there are 4 lights that come on and off when they choose, the EXT light, then the same air recirc and the fan control. i know the bulbs work, because i have seen them all on but they take a rest or something sometimes.

I got the lights behind the two bottons to work tonight by tapping with my knuckles under the bottons. There must be a loose connection.

It is buried in either the 5th Gen FAQ topic or the Installation Instructions topic (both stickied). I'm too lazy to search but at least that gives you some direction.

My bulbs flickered in and out for a number of months but they are both burnt out completely now -- or loose connection that finally gave up. So I can see the display fine but have to hunt-by-touch for the buttons at night. Haven't fixed it yet.

Have fun fixing it, although my car has manual climate control, i imagine the way the bulbs are mounted in the board is the same. I went ahead and pulled out the bulbs and put in LEDs in their place.

generic LED's that are already wired w/ a resistor in them.

Bascially its not that hard, just very time consuming.
-Get the climate control unit out of the car.
-Take it apart.
-Keep taking it apart.
-Everything comes apart, trust me.
-then when you are down to the board where the lights are, they are just "screwed" in, unscrew them.
-Fasten your led, however you want (i used superglue)
-make a hole for your wires to exit
-re assemble
-hook wires up to a 12v power source, i used the shifter light
-put the climate control back in the console
(these are the most vauge instructions i can give but they are pretty much all you need)

Go to the dealer (Nissan or Infiniti) tell them what bulbs you need. Once you have them, pull out the CC unit (similar to pulling the HU), IIRC the back unscrews to give you access to the circuit board and you will see the back of the bulbs. They just twist out and twist a new one back in.

Put everything back and they are fixed, took me 15 minutes and cost me less than $15 to replace all of them.

+1 on this same problem, I'm gonna say connection issues as well. Usually my AMB and fan control lights are out til i noticed the other day the AMB and fan was back on but the middle two were out now.
